Kate has completed a Bachelor of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences and a Masters of Dietetics Studies, both at the University of Queensland. Kate is best described as a “nutrition therapist” and is known for her warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative style when providing dietetic interventions and counselling for nutritional issues across the lifespan. Her practice is grounded in Intuitive Eating, Non-Diet Approach® and Health at Every Size® (HAES) principles. Kate’s areas of special interest include:Prevention, treatment, and management of nutrition-related chronic disease,Gastrointestinal diseases (eg Coeliac Disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease) and functional gastrointestinal disorders (eg IBS, constipation, diarrhoea and reflux),Food allergy and intolerance,Sports nutrition,Mental health nutrition (nutritional problems experienced with anxiety, depression, and other mental health disorders).​
Additionally, Kate has experience in the treatment of all eating and feeding disorders across the lifespan. Her additional training in this space extends to the following evidence-based treatment models:Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Enhanced (CBT-E)Maudsley Family Based Therapy (FBT)Specialist Support Clinical Management (SSCM)Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Avoidant-Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (CBT-AR)​
